W. Frank Peacock IV, MD, FACEP, FACC, FESC
W. Frank Peacock IV received his medical degree from Wayne State University Medical School and completed his Emergency Medicine training at William Beaumont Hospital, Detroit, Michigan.
He is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas. He has more than 850 peer-reviewed publications, predominantly on emergency medicine and cardiovascular conditions. He is also the co-editor of such textbooks as Cardiac Emergencies, Short Stay Management of Heart Failure, Short Stay Management of Chest Pain, Short Stay Management of Atrial Fibrillation, and Biomarkers of Traumatic Brain Injury.
Dr. Peacock is a 3-time winner of the Best Research Paper Award of the Year from the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Ray Bahr Award for cardiovascular excellence from the American College of Cardiology. He continues to serve as PI or co-PI for high-profile national and international clinical trials, including enrolling over 40,000 patients in Covid-19 biomarker trials. In addition, He is the global PI for the HEADSMART II trial, one of the largest currently enrolling diagnostic TBI biomarker trials in the world.
He is the founder of Comprehensive Research Associates, LLC, Emergencies in Medicine LLC, and AseptiScope Inc.
Karina M. Soto-Ruiz, MD
Karina M. Soto, is responsible for managing clinical operations of all clinical research trials performed on behalf of our clients. Based in Houston, Texas, Dr. Soto brings more than 15 years of both healthcare and research experience in areas such as protocol design, patient recruitment, monitoring visits, data analysis, and publication writing across a variety of pathologies with a focus on emergency medicine.
Dr. Soto started doing research in the outpatient space before moving to Texas Children's Hospital, where she was Clinical Research Coordinator for many years. She has extensive experience running both industry and NIH-funded studies as well as working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Dr. Soto has also served as the Director of Clinical Development for BrainCheck, creating its compliance system and overseeing all quality and compliance activities. Through them, she has provided cognitive health solutions to over 100 healthcare and athletic organizations around the country.
With over 25 publications and her extensive regulatory and compliance experience, Dr. Soto is a fierce advocate for research that will have a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
